Bench Engineer / Appliance Engineer – Commercial Catering Equipment

Role Overview

  • Job Title: Bench Engineer / Appliance Engineer
  • Location: Dublin (In-house Service Department)
  • Salary: €30,000 – €35,000 per year (DOE) + Overtime & Yearly Bonus
  • Contract: Permanent (Directly employed with the company)
  • Start Date: ASAP / Notice Period Dependent

About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Electrical Repair Bench Engineer to join a workshop team in Dublin. This role involves in-house repairs, servicing, and maintenance of commercial equipment, making it an ideal position for a domestic appliance engineer looking to transition into commercial systems or an experienced bench technician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform workshop repairs, servicing, and preventive maintenance on commercial equipment (including microwaves, Merrychefs, Vac Pacs, blenders, and food/veg prep machinery).

  • Accurately complete all daily repair and servicing documentation.

  • Correctly label, process, and collate all warranty and scrap returns at the end of each day.

  • Requisition and track required spare parts through internal stores procedures.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding repair updates and queries.

  • Maintain workshop safety and adhere to all internal operational instructions and policies.

Key Requirements & Benefits

  • Proven background in electrical/appliance repair (domestic appliance repair experience aligns well).

  • Strong troubleshooting ability to identify root causes and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • Excellent standard of spoken and written English.

  • Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team (references required).
