Real people Recruitment is working with a brand-new, beautifully designed premium parkland and memorial grounds opening this September in Portmarnock, we are seeking a dedicated Grounds & Facilities Maintenance Specialist.
This is a unique opportunity to join a tranquil, high-end development right from its public launch. The client is dedicated to creating a pristine, peaceful, and comforting environment for visitors, and they require an individual who takes immense pride in their work to keep the grounds flawless from day one.
As the Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for the overall care, upkeep, and beautification of manicured lawns, coastal-adjacent gardens, lakelands, walkways, and structures. Because this is a brand-new site, you will play a crucial role in establishing standards of excellence and ensuring the park looks immaculate for its grand opening and beyond.
Groundskeeping & Landscaping: Mow, edge, weed, trim trees/shrubs, and maintain vibrant flower beds to ensure a premium, park-like aesthetic.
Facility Upkeep: Maintain walkways, machinery, roadways, fencing, signage, and on-site structures or shelters.
Site Preparation: Assist with the respectful preparation and restoration of specific plots, including opening/closing sites and installing stone markers or monuments (full training provided).
Equipment Care: Operate and perform basic maintenance on commercial mowers, trimmers, and utility vehicles.
Waste & Debris Management: Ensure the park remains pristine by regularly clearing fallen branches, leaves, and litter.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safe environment for visitors and staff by keeping pathways clear of hazards, managing seasonal weather challenges, and adhering to health and safety protocols.
Experience: 1–2 years of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, estate management, or facility maintenance.
Equipment Skills: Confident operating commercial landscaping machinery, ride-on mowers, and basic power tools.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work comfortably outdoors in all Irish weather conditions and lift up to 25kg regularly.
Mindset: High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage your own daily task list.
Sensitivity & Professionalism: A respectful, empathetic demeanor, as you will occasionally work in areas where visitors are seeking quiet reflection or remembering loved ones.
Requirements: Must possess a valid Irish driver’s license (Category B or W is an advantage) and the right to work full-time in Ireland.
Competitive hourly rate / salary: [€35,000 per annum] (Depending on experience)
