Warehouse Supervisor (HVAC & Refrigeration)

Real people Recruitment is working with a well-established supplier within the HVAC and refrigeration sector to hire a reliable and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to lead their team at their Cork facility.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and dispatch of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment while managing a small team to maintain peak operational standards.

Role Overview

• Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

• Location: Cork

• Salary: €38,000 – €42,000 per year (DOE)

• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, onsite (8:30am – 5:30pm)

• Contract: Full-time, permanent. Overtime at time and a half.

Job Purpose

To lead and coordinate efficient warehouse operations through effective team management, accurate stock control, and rigorous safety oversight, ensuring all HVAC/R equipment is handled and dispatched to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Supervision

• Oversee daily warehouse workflows and delegate tasks to the operative team.

• Act as the primary point of contact for logistics, transport, and internal sales teams.

• Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and productivity targets.

Goods In/Out & Logistics

• Supervise the receipt, inspection, and recording of incoming HVAC units and components.

• Coordinate the picking, packing, and dispatch of orders to ensure 100% accuracy.

• Manage shipping documentation and liaise with external couriers.

Inventory Management

• Maintain high levels of stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and full audits.

• Investigate stock discrepancies and implement process improvements to reduce shrinkage.

Health & Safety

• Safety Lead: Ensure all staff follow health and safety procedures, including PPE and manual handling.

• Conduct regular safety walk-throughs and ensure the warehouse remains organized and compliant.

Material Handling & Maintenance

• Operate forklifts to load/unload heavy refrigeration equipment.

• Ensure all warehouse machinery (forklifts, pallet trucks) is maintained and daily safety checks are logged.

Candidate Requirements

• Licencing: A valid, up-to-date Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential. (Reach truck licence is a distinct advantage).

• Experience: Proven experience in a Warehouse Supervisory or Team Lead role.

• Sector Knowledge: Experience in refrigeration, plumbing wholesale, or hardware trade is highly desirable.

• Certifications: Valid Manual Handling certification.

• Communication: Excellent spoken and written English; ability to lead a team and communicate with management.

• Tech Savvy: Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic MS Office (Excel/Outlook).

• Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a "safety-first" mindset.
