Real people Recruitment is working with a well-established supplier within the HVAC and refrigeration sector, to help them hire a reliable and motivated Forklift Driver to join their team at their Cork facility.

The successful person will play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the safe handling, storage, and dispatch of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.

Job Title: Warehouse Operative / Forklift Driver
Location: Cork
Salary : €33,000 per year. 
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, onsite
Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Contract : Full time, permanent - €16.50/hr, over time at time and a half. Other benefits to be discussed at interview. 

Job Purpose
To support efficient warehouse operations through accurate goods handling, stock control, and safe equipment use, while maintaining a clean, organised, and compliant working environment.

Key Responsibilities

Goods In/Out

• Receive, inspect, and record incoming deliveries.
  Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately and efficiently.
  Ensure all relevant documentation is completed correctly.

Stock Control

• Maintain accurate stock records.
  Carry out regular stock checks and cycle counts.
  Assist in investigating discrepancies and improving inventory processes.

Material Handling

• Load and unload goods using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and pallet trucks.
  Store materials correctly to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.

Health & Safety

• Follow all health and safety procedures, including PPE and safe manual handling.
  Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.

Equipment & Maintenance

• Operate warehouse machinery and vehicles safely.
  Report any faults or maintenance issues.
  Assist with general upkeep of tools and workstations.

Operational Support

• Supply materials to internal teams as required.
  Work collaboratively to meet delivery deadlines and operational targets.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse, trade counter, or similar environment.
• Experience in refrigeration, plumbing wholesale, or hardware trade is an advantage.
• Forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck) required.
• Manual Handling certification is desirable.
• Full driving licence preferred.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse or inventory systems.
• Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move products safely.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
